Alex lead me in the wrong direction today..... ......Yes Alex I am blaming this on you hahaha
We thought since it said 1/2 class that meant we only did part 1 and 2... Which was the tired flips and the 2 position clean... Skip the class Wod and do the super set of DL and strict press.... But I have been informed that beyond the white board has us doing everything... Sooooo
With that being said: 165 for the 2 position cleans (did not drop bar) .... Tried for 175 power clean and just couldn't get it.
Superset : DL @ 185 double over hand hook grip (I can't even lift a bar without hook gripping ) Strict press @ 75
Hand stand walks 45/50 ft each time! ... Got tired!
No one said you had to be a follower Kenz. But oops, my bad for misinterpreting. In addition to that it was 2 strict presses not 5 like written on the board.
Power cleans up to 255, failed on the hang squat clean. Didn't attack it like I should have.
WOD....as Kenz mentioned above I thought we were to replace the DL/strict press workout for the class WOD. Fml.
245 for the deads. Double overhand, no hook grip. 125 for strict press. 5 reps each set because that's what was written on the dry erase board. Basically the lesson I've learned over the past few hours is to check BTWB and blog x2-3 times before doing anything.
Handstand walks are getting better but after first set they continually got more challenging. Shoulder care completed afterword
Power/ hang clean completed at 275# for a pr at the hang. Hit a 285# power which was a pr but almost broke my hand trying to hang clean it. Hand shot out during the catch. Don't worry I'm okay.
DL at 245# but only did 5 reps each time to save my back. Strict press at 145# felt really easy.
Tire flips were good. Hang clean complex at 155. Couldn't even clean 165 haha. Did deadlifts before class with Shelby Jen and Shine and the stiff presses. Deadlifts at 130 for me. Workout was brutal. I partnered with the deadlift queen sunshine and immediately got made better today from it. Now I'm gonna go eat a burrito and hope my legs work tomorrow.

1) Started off with the DL/strict press super sets with Jen, Shelb, and Chels. Did 185 for the DL and 75 for the presses. Grip was super fatigued.
2) Practiced handstand walks/holds for 12 mins. It feels a bit better from the perspective of shoulder stability but I struggle getting my feet far enough back.
3) Tire flips were a great warm up going into the clean complex. Worked up to 165 for the complex, the power clean felt solid but my catch on the hang squat clean was super ugly. Eek.
4) Partnered with Chels for the KB workout. My goal was to finish each of my rounds in about 30-45s which I maintained throughout. I thought this might bug my back but I am happy to report it did not. Yay!
Hit 5:30 today with a star studded cast! Felt good to leave the gym before 8:30 today.
Clean-300. Power cleaned 315 but major fail on hang. WOD-worked w/Jesse 7:52 HS walks after class with Jesse, Bro-D, and Omar. All unbroken. Little slow for me. Seems like the more I practice HS holds-the worse I get at walks??? DL 295 no hook grip. Tough to hold on Strict press 155-felt fine Shoulder care complete.
1) missed tire flips 2) 155 PC-HSC pretty easy. 165# PC marked a 10# PR but came fwd at the bottom of HSC & lost the bar. Need work on getting under the bar to clean to my shoulder rack, not to my chest, which is now bruised.
3) Tired but WOD was easy #wheelhouse. Added one extra set of DL's using 44 KBs for kicks.
4) DL is embarrassingly low :135# hook grip x3 sets/ 145# no hook x2 sets. I got better. Strict press @ 75 was fine. I'm a flexible narrow gripper - Tommy told me to widen my grip last set; I think it was easier?
Pleasant, but quiet morning at FCF.
ReplyDeleteTeam tire flip / run warm up was fun.
Worked up to 195# for PC-HSC complex. Had more in the tank but ran out of time.
DB Partner wod with #Daddy. Used 44# KB. Hamstrings smoked.
Extra: DL at 135#, Strict Press at 85#.
HS walks: dominated. Working on speed and larger steps. #Bignastics
#BigNasty

Or you could just read it correctly the first time and be done. Here's an old John Wooden quote for you (he knew a little about winning)

DeleteTire flips were fun.
ReplyDeletePower clean complex up to 285. Squat cleaned 300 and had a fun attempt from the hang, couldnt get out of the hole....but made the effort.
WOD- Added in the assault bike and my back was fried. Gave it what I had and finished the cals but not the kb work.
Did a few handstand walks before class. Deads were not happening.
Shoulder work later tonight.
Loved the tire flip.
ReplyDeleteBack still lit up from thrusters Sunday.
